Looking for the cheapest way to get paid in dollars? How about free? USD Account lets you receive USD at no cost, and send it to friends, suppliers, or partners when you need to.
Starting today, eligible Cashi users can open one in a few minutes, right in the app.
What you get
- US account details in your name: an account number and routing number you share once and get paid into again and again.
- Free to receive: no fee to open, no monthly fee and no fee on incoming payments. The sender’s bank may charge its own fee for sending.
- Ready to spend: every dollar you receive is added to your Cashi balance one to one, ready for your card.
- Send to any bank: pay any bank account, in the US or abroad.
Get paid by clients and platforms
Clients, employers and platforms like Upwork, Fiverr and PayPal can pay you the same way they’d pay any US bank account.
| How they pay | Sent from | Usually arrives |
|---|---|---|
| ACH | A bank in the US | 1–3 business days |
| Fedwire | A bank in the US | Same business day |
| SWIFT | A bank outside the US | 1–4 business days |
Choose how your dollars arrive
Your USD Account comes with two sets of account details. One adds incoming dollars to your balance as USDT (Tether), and the other adds them as USDC (USD Coin). Share the set you want with each person who pays you. Not sure which to pick? Read USDT vs USDC.
Send US dollars to any bank
Pay a supplier, a partner or a friend, or move money to your own bank account. Each send has a fixed bank fee for the method you pick, plus a small transfer fee based on the amount.
| Method | Sends to | Bank fee per send | Usually arrives |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACH | A bank in the US | 0.50 USD | 1–3 business days |
| Fedwire | A bank in the US | 10 USD | Same business day |
| SWIFT | A bank outside the US | 25 USD | 1–4 business days |
Before you confirm, the app shows the exact amount that will arrive and every fee Cashi charges. The receiving bank, and banks along a SWIFT route, may charge their own fees.
Pick your limit
When you open your USD Account, you choose one of two limits:
- Up to 3,000 USD in any 7 days: no extra documents needed.
- Unlimited: upload a proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement from the last 3 months.
Start with 3,000 USD and upgrade to Unlimited in the app whenever you need more room.
How your dollars are held
Your USD Account works like a US bank account for receiving and sending dollars. To provide it, we work with licensed US financial institutions. USD transfers are handled by our partner, together with Lead Bank, a Missouri state-chartered bank that is FDIC insured.
The dollars you receive are added to your Cashi balance as USD stablecoins, so your balance is held as digital assets, not as US dollars. That’s also what lets you spend it anywhere with your Cashi card.

You can open a USD Account if you:

- Have a passport, driver’s license, residence permit or Colombian national ID
